The next instance of the women* physicist networking event, the women physicists barbecue will take place on tuesday, the 8th of July!
All women* physicists are invited to come to the barbecue starting at 6 pm between Building 61 and 62 (Campus Bahrenfeld). There will be various vegetarian and vegan grilled dishes and other snacks, as well has the possibility to enjoy a nice chat with other women* physicists!
Whether you are currently studying, in a phd program, postdoc or professor, come by and join us!
Who exactly is invited?
Hereby we invite all women* and FLINTA* People from the area of physics to come by.
Does it cost something?
No. The student council is funded by the AStA, so the barbecue will be free for everyone that is coming.
Why do we do this?
FLINTA* people are underrepresented in Physics, abandon their studies more often and face gender based discrimination in their studies and workplace. Networking fosters collaboration, allows to meet role models and shows the range possibilities in physics.
What does FLINTA* mean?
FLINTA* is a German acronym for women, lesbians, inter, non binary, trans and agender inividuals and is used to indicate people who are patriarchally discriminated against based on their gender identity.
